Joy Thru Movement

From your very first class, you will hear euphorisms such as, "relax the body, focus the mind." Just think on that a minute. In our fast paced world where everything needs to be done yesterday, does your body really get a chance to relax? Do you continually chatter to yourself? Is the car gonna start? Gotta skip lunch! Gotta do this, gotta do that! In the meantime, do you feel like you are running around in circles and just want some peace of mind? Well, read on. T'ai Chi Chih just might help you take control of yourself from within.

T'ai Chi Chih was originated in 1974 by T'ai Chi Ch'uan Master, Justin Stone. He found the ancient form of T'ai Chi Ch'uan difficult for students, requiring years of practice to benefit from it. He began experimenting with simple movements that could be learned easily with benefits realized in weeks instead of years. The result, T'ai Chi Chih, is based on classic T'ai Chi principles, but is not a martial art. Consisting of only 19 movements and one pose, it is very easy and fun to do!

T'ai Chi Chih is a series of easy, gentle and relaxing movements that stimulate, circulate and balance internal energy (Chi). Beneficial results are obtained regardless of a person's age, physical condition, or agility. It is an invaluable practice that circulates Chi to all the organs, muscles and bones. Because it is practiced with a relaxed body and focused mind, it is sometimes considered a moving meditation.

Learning T'ai Chi Chih

This profoundly beneficial movement form is relatively easy to learn, but it is best to begin with an accredited teacher. Anyone, from young to old, in any physical condition can do T'ai Chi Chih because it requires no special athletic abilities. No special clothing, equipment or experience is required, and only a few feet of floor space is needed. It can even be done seated. Benefits of Practicing T'ai Chi Chih

The benefits experienced by students are diverse. Each person seems to receive what he or she needs. Regular practice of at least 20 minutes can result in increased balance, energy, coordination, regulation of blood pressure and weight, decreased pain and symptoms of arthritis. The practice is beneficial for people with a variety of chronic conditions. Besides the physical results, tensions and stress dissolve and are replaced by heightened energy and relaxed awareness.
