Anger, fear, love, happiness, sadness, loneliness, heartbreak - all of these are emotions that run deep inside you; that touch the center of your beating heart.
Anger fills your veins, runs fast and hot through your body, quickens your breath, leaves you panting, then explodes in a giant array of color and sounds that thickens the air around you.
Fear is the opposite of anger; it makes your blood run cold, freezes your muscles and slams your heart against your chest. It makes your body damp with sweat that beads across your skin, sends goose bumps running laps across your neck and arms.
Love is a very different thing; it’s gentle and not easily broken, warms your heart and lifts your spirit, stays strong in your weakness, never fails, never hates.
Then comes happiness; the feeling deep inside that comes up slowly to bubble from your every pore, that contagiousness that spawns from the grin it brings to your face - the emotion that makes your body feel so good you can’t keep still, can’t get that wide smile to slip from its place.
But sadness on the other hand can make that smile disappear so fast it will leave you empty yet full; full of a deep heavy ache that weighs you down more and more the longer it’s inside you and it’s hard to lift.
The same is true with loneliness. The same deep ache, but this time it takes away more that just your smile; it takes part of you, some little thing that you have taken for granted when you were with another.
Heartbreak is the hardest of all. It comes quick and stings deep, stays for weeks, months - leaves you gasping for the air that was stolen from your lungs; causes a part of your heart to wither away and crack, leaving an unmendable scar in its place; leaving you feeling utterly crushed and helpless, unable to break out of your shock to even shed on tear.
Then comes one not mentioned - the most important of all. The one that, when all else seems to be against you, can lift you up, touch your heart and calm your soul; when all else is lost, it is hope that still beats strong within you.
Anger, fear, love, happiness, sadness, loneliness, heartbreak and hope, all of these are emotions that run deep inside you; that touch the center of your beating heart.
