Midnight! Too much sound from the pavement.
Has this group found their way yet?
They are walking alone.
In the lamplight, they step over holes with their feet,
And their legs begin to moan!
Memory! All alone in the moonlight!
They can smile at the morning.
They knew where they were then.
They remember a time the knew where the hotel was.
Let the memory come again.
Every footstep seems to bring
Them closer without warning!
Someone mutters, as they're lost again!
And soon, it will be morning!
Daylight! They won't wait for the sunrise!
They must think of a new way, and they mustn't give in!
When they find it, tonight will be a memory too!
And they won't try this again!
Burnt out legs, and tired feet,
They backtrack yet again!
They stop and rest before the night is over!
Their patience is gone!
"Forget this! It's so easy to get back
To the hotel where we came from!
Let's just get to a phone!
If we call one, I'm sure we can get a cab!
Look! The hotel! We're finally home!"
