     LIGHT              new 10/19/05 ...

One level in two parts based on experiments beginning August 2003. Includes my most fluent example of "cubic caves" before leading into abstractions and plenty of blasting. About 300 kills.

Download: light.zip (84 K)
Requires Cube 6/24/02 or later.

CAMERA

This level uses the new features of Cube: jumppads, mapmodels including the bridge, lighted entities, switches, and the new soundtrack. The first two-thirds is mostly traditional metal, masonry and wood, and then it turns futuristically lighted and colorful. It is slightly easier than most of my other levels but plenty tricky, and monster machines are used supplementally rather than primarily. Includes custom sky and small cubic mapmodel by dcp. 261 kills.

Included with Cube 8/05. (Download: camera.zip (49 K), requires Cube 5/22/04 or later.)

Modification of
CASTLE RAMPAGE
from the original map by Fanatic

Increases difficulty and action over the original, up to 124 monsters (vs. 29). End changed.

Revised version included with Cube 8/05.
Download, also includes my "almost stock" version: rampage-spenmod.zip (54K)

Pic Left: monster device(s) connected to level, editor shot. Right: fortress entrance.

CONUNDRUM

  august 2003

click for more This map features cavelike atmosphere, eventually moving into the light high atop a tower. There is large use of the rhino monster's ability to pass through spaces smaller than the player, including RhinoMatic[tm], and other devious monster devices. The normal version is packed with 275 monsters, just expect 40+ minutes and it won't be too hard, and the full version is included with 312 monsters for the more persistent. Custom textures and 2 original music tracks, one dark ambient and one happy tune, kind of.

SHADOWLAND

A large single player map for Cube.

This my first map. Starts off kind of basic but that might be good for some players, gets cooler later; it's ambitious, a little strange, challenging, play it.
"Traditional" single player (make it to the end) map.
Updated version for Cube version 12/23/03 (or later).

Cube Single player (kill all)

retroCUBE: play the 6-02 version of Cube including the original version of Shadowland with this handy pack. Includes maps and the 6-24-02 Cube .exe (runs as a mod, requires full version, see instructions). Pros: much cleaner looking, maps play as originally intended, first Cube version that was great, excellent performance, easier to see therefore easier to play. Cons: less "moody" (dark), no hudgun, no savegame (but provides checkpoint type system), slightly more trouble. Windows only: cube6_02pack.zip (96 KB).
