- DISCERNING UNBIBLICAL RELIGIONS -

THEN HEAR
WHAT 'GOD' IS SAYING!

In 1 John 4:1 we are commanded to... believe not every spirit, but Try the spirits whether they are of God (or not): because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
So what the Scriptures are saying is not to just go and trust any old body, not until we have tested the spirit of their words (what Spirit/spirit is this??) against what God already made clear in order to know whether they and what they are saying are of God or not. ALL true Christians; because they've tasted of and/or touched the real McCoy (and now know the difference between that which is true and that which is phony) have been given the ability to discern and KNOW the difference in this test of truth verses error....
1 Corinthians 2:12-16 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

TULIP Calvinists claim that Jesus didn't come and die for the sins of everyone but for only a certain few, namely just for themselves, who were ordained for this salvation from even before they were born... so they claim to have no choice or say in the matter of their salvation, using scripture wrongly and believing that God will save (love) only those who He wants to save and destroy (hate) all those who He doesn't want saved.
Note -- It is precisely WHO they say that Jesus is (or is not) that we are able to try the spirits in order to see where they are in error - possibly damnable error, as they claim that Jesus didn't pay the price (i.e. die and shed His blood) for everyone in order to be Lord over all (Acts 2:36), but died just for a certain few (as themselves).
Simply by hearing a few words of what they believe verses what God says about His Son, and Who THEY say that Jesus is verses Who the BIBLE says He is are at opposite ends. THIS is how we can distinguish who the False Prophets are! What they believe and teach is nothing more than a form of Gnosticism, claiming that only men like themselves have been given the knowledge to know and explain these things to the rest of us, as what they teach goes contrary to the word of God, in fact it destroys God's word in His Good News Gospel towards ALL men (Luke 2:14).
Acts 10:43 .....To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name WHOSOEVER believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
and finally - ALL of the work ever needed to save us all was finished by Christ at the cross and by His resurrection, leaving only -- FAITH ---
( "I AM THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD!" -- Believe The Gospel and be saved -- don't and you won't be!)
You can"t miss seeing God's heart in these words of His. You know Exactly where He stands by what He says!!! He wants ALL men to be saved by faith in His only begotten Son, and even made it possible for ALL men to be saved by having His only begotten Son go to the cross in order to pay the price for ALL sinners.
I have just presented a number of comparison scriptures (that the Calvinists say are not what they mean) but that the Scriptures all agree with one another so that you will know God's heart and what He is saying for yourself, as you compare His words with what men; in this case what Religious TULIP Calvinists, who hold to a different spirit concerning the Gospel, are saying about WHO Jesus is and what He came to do, but ONLY for them.
It Is Written: John 10:35 .....the scripture cannot be broken
Let's begin with those who hold fast to: TULIP Calvinism....
Let me give you several examples, and please Try the spirits as you Hear what is being said....
1 Timothy 2:4 .....Who will have ALL men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Galatians 1:3-4 .....Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who gave himself for OUR sins, that he might deliver US from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
1 Corinthians 15:3 .....For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for OUR SINS according to the scriptures;
Romans 3:22 .....Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto ALL and upon ALL them that believe: for there is no difference:
Romans 8:32 ......He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us ALL, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Romans 10:11-13..... For the scripture saith, WHOSOEVER believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over ALL is rich unto all that call upon him.
For WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 14:9 .....For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord BOTH of the dead and living.
Titus 2:11 .....salvation hath appeared to ALL men,
2 Peter 3:9 .....He is not willing that ANYONE should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.
1 Timothy 2:4 ....Who will have ALL men to be saved,
1 John 2:2 .....And he is the propitiation for OUR sins: and not for ours ONLY, but also for the sins of THE WHOLE WORLD.
1 John 4:14 .....And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of THE WORLD.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15 .....For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for ALL, then were ALL dead:
And that he died for ALL, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
John 1:9 .....That was the true Light, which lighteth EVERY man that cometh into the world.
John 12:46 .....I am come a light into the world, that WHOSOEVER believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
John 1:29 .....The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of THE WORLD.
John 3:16-17 .....For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that THE WORLD through him might be saved.
John 8:24-25 .....I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning....
Let's add to the list: Oneness Pentecostals as well, and all who believe that the Father and the Son are one and the same, while denying the Triune God....
But let's examine what is written by those who believe these things....
There are "2 primary denials" that have been allowed to "seep" into the church today...
#1. The denial that Jesus Christ came in the flesh! ( 1 Jn.4:3; 2 Jn.1:7 - cf Jn.1; 1 Jn.1 )
#2. The denial of the doctrine of Christ, in replacing either or both the Father and the Son!( 1 Jn.2:22; 2 Jn.1:9 - cf 1 Jn.1:3; Jn.14:23 )
2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
John 7:16-17 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
Because they deny the Father, and say that Jesus is both the Father and the Spirit, they go contrary to what the Scriptures have to say otherwise. This is another case of Gnosticism where only they believe they have been given the special power to understand these hidden things.
Let's add another group to the list: Health and Wealth - Name it and claim it Gospel
as well, and all who believe in a Gospel that God also sent His Son in order for us to become rich in this worlds goods, and that whatever we say (with faith) we get, and that our bodies IN THIS LIFE are in the atonement (therefore we should NEVER get sick)....
Some of the shallowest people in the world are those who go after this worlds goods all the while attributing their gain to "religion". Just as Jesus, in Luke 18:22, told the rich man to sell all he owned and give it away to the poor, and then he was to come and follow Him. And after the man sorrowfully left (because he was very rich - Luke 18:23), Jesus turned and said to the people:
Mark 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
Luke 18:24-25 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
So using Jesus (and the Scriptures) to prove that His followers are meant to be rich, doesn't draw one closer to Him at all but farther and farther away from Him. Their "special revelation knowledge" is Gnostic as well.
Let's test another group: Baptists who believe WATER Baptism washes away our sins -and that at the very least if you aren't baptized (i.e. dunked) then you aren't obeying Jesus' command!
Right at the top let me say that if one isn't obeying Jesus' commands then he doesn't Love Him enough to KEEP His words- John 14:15, 21, 23; 15:10 - but he in fact Hates Him - John 14:24, proving that he's no Christian. The Scriptures also say that Jesus is the Baptizer, and that He comes baptizing with the Holy Spirit and with Fire - Matthew 3:11.
Some say that WATER (H2O) can wash away the sins of the human conscience! But it can't! In John the Baptists day it was only used as an OUTWARD sign to show that the person "Repented from sin" - Matthew 3:11; Luke 3:16. It can NEVER take away sins! ONLY Jesus' shed blood can cleanse us of sin - 1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5.
If you understand that baptism is a covenant sign, then you can see that it is meant to be ONLY an outward representation of the reality of an inward Christ coming via the Holy Spirit in order to circumcize our hearts (Rom. 2:29; Col. 2:11-12). It has no power over the Old Man! What it is is our outward proclamation of the inward spiritual blessing that we have indeed been buried with Christ, regenerared and made anew in Him.
It comes after faith, which is a gift of God,
Remember, if some church says you need to be joined to them, have your sins forgiven, and/or be saved because you haven't been Water baptised yet -- rather than listen to them condemn you and themselves, listen to the word instead:
Let that word speak loud and clear to the accusers of Born Again Christians who haven't been Baptized with water, by those who have! I can assure you that if you are resting your faith on this, then you've already lost.
One last thought: If someone maintains that water baptism is necessary for salvation, is he adding his own work to the finished work of Christ? If the answer is yes, then that person would be in terrible risk of not being saved. If the answer is no, then why is baptism maintained as being necessary the same way as the Jews maintained that works were necessary and the way that Judaizers maintained that Jewish circumcision was necessary???
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Let's add to the list: Willowcreek church and its pastor, Bill Hybels.
Willowcreek and Hybels preaches a gospel that focuses on the self. For example, he says: "The gospel message for a man is that a relationship with Jesus Christ is essential to avoid ‘mindless misinterpretations of masculine identity.’ For a woman, the gospel is that Jesus Christ offers freedom from being a ‘people-pleaser,’ thereby allowing her to satisfy her ‘need for inner security'." Why is it that we hear TWO Gospels here, one for a man and the other for a woman?
The Real Gospel Message is this:
1 Timothy 1:15 "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."
It is VITAL that we each understand that anything coming short of this Gospel can only give one an Intellectual approach and understanding of the Scriptures that is void of the Spirit, because of it being a false gospel.
Hybels is a man whose ministry vision at Willowcreek is to have unrepentant sinners be comfortable in the presence of a holy God. There is no cross in his church, no hymnals, and a strong appeal to the "unchurched", and this is how Willowcreek grew into megachurch size. As being X-Catholics ourselves we fully understand and wonder how else Roman Catholics can comprise nearly 50% of the attendance and still feel COMFORTABLE in the presence of a Holy God? (I assure you that if GOD were present, the vast majority would flee for the hills.)
We cannot and do not go along with what are called "The Megachurches", of which "Willowcreek" fits the description perfectly. We see how his book: "Becoming a Contagious Christian" is nothing more than another "HOW TO" book written by men who have "Intellectualized" the Scriptures. I ask you seriously, what does the message of Bill Hybels have to do with kneeling before the cross of Christ, forsaking it all and letting Him be the Lord of all?
As you know there is only one way to save souls, and that is by preaching to them the Gospel of Jesus Christ, including the part where IF they love Him and seek to obey Him then they haven't any other choices but to give Him their heart and forsake all in order to follow Him. This is the Gospel that we know and preach - this is the Gospel personally taught to us by the Holy Spirit - and this is the part of the Gospel that the megachurches leave out. That's why these Seeker or Sinner Friendly churches have grown so large, because they cow-tow to the world's image of what Christ should be TO THEM rather than having the world and the Christian be conformed to the image of Christ.
We have learned early in our Christian walk that you need NONE to teach you. The assumption given in the book is that it adhears to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, yet the mindset and marketing techniques given in the book seem oriented to appeal to the rich and famous rather than to the poor lost sinner.
Finally, the truth is: Once a person becomes "Born Again" (John 3:3 & 5) they cannot be taught how to be "Contagious Christians" because they already are (1 Cor.4:20) and the Holy Spirit is their "How To" Guide into ALL Truth (John 16:13). We already have been given the Ministry of Reconciliation (2 Cor.5:18-20), and because we have the Holy Ghost as our witness (John 3:11), we bear witness to the Truth, that all men through us might believe (John 1:7).
more on the way....
Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
