The Truth is we cannot see nor ever believe that what we are is anywhere near as desperately wicked as God knows us to be, and therefore without the Spirit
of Truth revealing our true nature to us, and how we stand so violently in
opposition to God, we would NEVER believe it and repent!
A sinner sins because he was born one! That's who he is and he cannot help it
or change his spots!
Therefore he is powerless to stop his sinning, and will keep on doing so (because
that is his nature) until he dies.
This is what it means to remain under God's wrath!
A Christian, on the other hand, has been placed IN Christ and given a new life
and reckons themselves dead to sin, being born righteous! The Power to stop
sinning is contained in their new nature. That's who they are now!
It wasn't until I was brought to see "myself" for what I was in God's Light; in
near shock and disbelief that anyone (let alone pure little ol' me) could be that
sin blackened and uglied, that caused me to repent of it to the death. (i.e. to
turn away from it and die, and come to God... and (miracle of miracles) Live!)
When I died (being emptied of what I was) was when I became FILLED with the
Spirit and Born Again!
True repentance of who we are is a one time inward and to the death
step/requirement, and not an outside fix after fix after fix. This "death to the
old creature", requires our full cooperation with God in a special way through a
First Commandment (Spirit-revealing) undying Love to Him forever, no matter the
cost (even death forever!!!), as much as it take God's Light to expose us for
who and what we are.
Because "who we are in Adam" God has determined MUST DIE (and will one way
or the other), because at the appearing of "Jesus" as the New Man, and all
those made in His image are going to be the new rulers on earth and evermore.
To me this "repentance of who we are" in the emptying and death that comes
because of "HEARING" the words of Christ, and the awesome Filling of His Love
and miraculous Power of His Life that immediately follows in "DOING THEM", IS
THE SINGLE GREATEST MIRACLE THERE EVER WAS!!!!!!!!!!!
John 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
"Happy?" "Happy??" No words can express the joy! and "Happy" is a very bad
translation of "Joyously Delirious"!
